ARE ROOF STORM DAMAGE REPAIR CONTRACTORS DUMB?
Up until 2010, the storm damage restoration insurance claims process was a relatively simple one. Contractors would inspect the damage, submit their repair estimates to their customers insurance companies, negotiate the price of their repair work with insurance company desk adjusters, then complete the repairs. With the Unauthorized Practice of Public Adjusting (UPPA) legislative push that began in earnest in 2010 and the ill-informed acceptance of P&C insurance industry controlled Xactimate ‘forced market’ false price repair estimating software as the so-called ‘industry standard’ however, the storm damage restoration industry has devolved into a quite sad version of its former self.
With UPPA which prohibits contractors from negotiating their insured customers property damage repair pricing, P&C insurance was essentially granted license to steal by allowing them to delay, deny, and defend against fair and full claims payment indefinitely. Who does that then negatively affect? Primarily, insured property owners, but also their contractors, and the contractors roofing, siding, and related building product manufacturers and distributors.
The annual costs to all of the parties mentioned above? To the insured property owners; by my estimate, in Toto, across the USA, $5,000,000,000 dollars in legitimate claims payments that are never made to them. The annual, in Toto, cost to their contractors? The same $5,000,000,000 dollars that are never paid to their insured property owner customers to cover the costs of all of the repairs. My conservative estimate of the annual cost, in Toto, to roofing, siding, and related building product manufacturers and distributors as a result of building product orders never placed? $1,500,000,000. Food for thought…while that figure may, in the minds of some building products manufacturing and distribution company directors and CEO’s, seem insignificant, it is, by no means, insignificant to their investors and shareholders.
P&C insurance knows that 98% of insured property owners as well as the great majority of storm damage repair contractors have little to no truly in-depth understanding of how the insurance claims recovery process should really work and they take full advantage of that fact. They’ve also convinced themselves that both their insured customers as well as their insured customers repair contractors are too dumb to ever figure out what they’ve been up to (same mistake, by the way, made by millions of voters in the most recent USA presidential election).
Contrary to what the P&C insurance industry seems to believe, contractors are not dumb. They are however, lacking in the kind of advanced UPPA / Xactimate defeating insurance restoration recovery process training that will allow them to achieve the same kind of positive results as shown under the ‘Past Pro Contractor Student Endorsements’ on this website’s home page. Without question, P&C insurance does not want their insured customers or their repair contractors to learn what they will learn from the advanced training program featured and offered on this site.
How and why is this contractor training program different? Unlike any other contractor training program out their today, I teach contractors an experienced based and proven top down approach that utilizes the same methods and techniques I have used over the years to expose, defeat, and hold accountable numerous organizations and individuals whose business practices were shown to be less than honorable. Included in that mix are several of the country’s most well known corporations, wayward P&C insurance company field and desk adjusters and engineers, several P&C insurance company CEO’s, and, with the green light given to me by a then sitting Supreme Court Chief Justice, a misguided big city District Court Judge.
As President of 3RS Wealth Creation Systems financial advisory firm which I ran concurrently for a time along side my retail remodel and insurance restoration contracting then contractor training business, I advised numerous high level executives and leaders of some of the countries most well known multi-million and multi-billion dollar corporations. Included among those executives and leaders are Bruce Dayton – Dayton Hudson Corp/Target Corp., Anthony Adducci – Medtronic/Cardiac Pace Makers, Inc., Adducci Venture Capitalists, and Franklin Morris – EVP, Southside Lumber Co.
From that experienced perspective, in exchange for the approximate $31,000,000,000 billion worth of hard earned dollars that storm damage contractors pay to their building product manufacturers and distributors for their building products every year, I expect that, in return, those same building product manufacturers and distributors would be highly motivated to invest a very small amount of the profits from those sales into an advanced and proven proprietary contractor training program that would empower their contractor customers to recapture those annual never placed orders and the associated never realized profits.
Not only will advanced training result in a building products industry recapture of that $1,500,000,000 annually missed orders figure, the substantial increase in trained contractor efficiency and productivity will also result in a conservative building products order increase of $500,000,000 in year one above and beyond the $1,500,000,000 recapture figure. As well, as the need for PA, appraiser, and attorney involvement dramatically decreases as the contractors claims process knowledge increases, contractor’s storm damage restoration projects will move from ‘filed to final’ in a much shorter time period which will allow trained contractors to achieve substantially higher per job profits – and remain viable over the long term. The above will, of course, only occur after the program has been made available to the participating manufacturing and distribution company’s contractor customers en masse.
Thus far, likely as a result of not truly understanding the full breadth of the problem, even though roofing, siding, and related building product manufacturers and distributors have been made aware of the availability of the advanced contractor training program outlined on this site’s home page and its incredible value to both they and their contractor customers, they have taken little action to inform their valued contractor customers about the program or make the program available to them. I suspect that, at least in regards to companies purchased by PE interests, PE firm leaders lack of understanding of the the problem may have something to do with that.
With all of the above in mind; On December 1, 2024, from my Minneapolis, Minnesota home base, starting with a primary focus on contractors operating throughout the upper Midwest, I will begin putting forth a concerted and aggressive all out massive action effort to make the availability and the value of my advanced 3RSystems, LLC contractor training program known to thousands of additional contractors across the country. Roofing, siding, and related building product manufacturers and distributors, including HOME DEPOT, are welcome to and are encouraged to tell their contractor customers about the program as well as request that I present on the topic to their valued contractor customers at distributor branch offices. The expense fee for any presentation given at a manufacturer or distributor branch office beyond fifty miles of Minneapolis, Minnesota is negotiable.
Those roofing, siding, and related building product manufacturers and distributors, including HOME DEPOT, who take a proactive approach to solving the problem by getting the training into their valued contractor customers hands will be aggressively promoted to the millions of insured property owners from across the country as the company or companies that 3RSystems, LLC recommends doing business with.
